PACE HEAD START
POSITION: TEACHER
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:
- Must meet EEC Infant/Toddler Teacher requirements;
- Hold a CDA credential, Associates in Early Childhood Education/related field or be enrolled in a program leading to either;
- Be CPR/First Aid Certified;
- At least one (1) year experience as an infant/toddler teacher, preferred;
- Able to be active eight (8) hours a day to support children with individual needs that may include disabilities. Physically able to safely supervise children six (6) weeks – five (5) years of age, including but not limited to lifting a child up to 50 lbs., pushing and/or pulling up to 75 lbs., climbing stairs, participating in field trips and neighborhood walks;
- Must be able to pass background checks (CORI, DCF, SORI, and Fingerprint-based National and State criminal history background check);
- Must have a valid driver’s license.
The Early Head Start Teacher will have secondary responsibility for planning and managing the daily activities of the classroom and will communicate cooperatively and support parents, teaching staff, and program managers concerning program operations and services to children and families.

EARLY HEAD START FAMILY ADVOCATE
We are looking for candidates with a passion for working with children in an early learning environment with the following qualifications and skills:
· AA/BA in Human Services, Social Services, or related field;
· Bi-lingual English/Spanish;
· Case Management experience;
· Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds;
· Understanding of low-income family needs and local community resources;
· Strong communication, writing, and interpersonal skills;
· Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel;
· Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle for transportation between sites and to home/agency visits;
· Ability to pass CORI & DCF background checks;
· Must meet state/federal credentialing and professional development requirements.
The Family Advocate is responsible for recruiting and enrolling eligible children for Early Head Start services. S/he provides supportive family services to an assigned caseload of infant and toddler children and families in accordance with Early Head Start performance standards. The EHS Family Advocate works in partnership with parents/family members to improve and support the quality of family life and plans and implements a variety of activities to facilitate parent communication and involvement in their children’s education and care. The Advocate facilitates relationships between the Early Head Start and Head Start Programs, children and families and professionals from community agencies and organizations.
Head Start provides family-centered pre-school programming for over 200 income-eligible families with children from ages 3 to 5 years old, and high-quality early childhood education for 30 children from 6 weeks old to 3 years old living in the Greater New Bedford area.

As the Head Start Cook, you’ll prepare breakfast, lunch, and snacks for preschool children and staff, ensuring every meal meets federal and state nutrition guidelines. The position is a vital role in creating a warm, healthy environment that supports children’s development and well-being.
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience preparing meals for over 100+ children daily
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage food purchasing
- Knowledge of sanitation and food safety practices
- Must have school food service experience
- SERV Safe Certification (within 90 days of hiring)
- Valid driver’s license required
- Physically able to lift up to 60 lbs., climb stairs, and stand/walk throughout the day
- Must meet state and federal credential requirements
- Ability to pass CORI and DCF background checks.
Compensation & Benefits:
- $20.96 - $25.96/hour, plus $1.00/hour for dual language speakers
- 35 hours/week; 42 - 52 weeks/year

PACE CHILD CARE WORKS
COMMUNITY SUPPORT SPECIALIST/DIAPER PROGRAM MANAGER
Diapers ‘N Things is a PACE initiative offering families in Greater New Bedford a supplemental supply of diapers, wipes, children’s clothing, and feminine products when available at scheduled distributions.
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and skills:
· High School diploma or GED required
· Bilingual skills (Spanish, Portuguese, or Haitian Creole) preferred; ability to use translation tools as needed
· Ability to bring high energy and work independently
· Valid driver’s license required with good driving record
· Proficiency in computer applications, including inventory management, social media, and spreadsheets
· Strong customer service skills with the ability to maintain professional relationships with families
· Demonstrated commitment to supporting young families and connecting them with community resources
· Physical ability to climb stairs, stand, bend, walk throughout the day, and lift up to 40 lbs., including carrying diaper boxes up short flights of stairs
· Ability to pass CORI and DCF background checks.
Candidate will be responsible for operating this existing initiative with the support of the program’s supervisor and an already present core of volunteers. In turn, organically fostering communication and shared goals with CFCE (Coordinated Family and Community Engagement Program).
