Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) Program

The Federal VITA program has operated for over 50 years. VITA offers free tax help to people who need assistance in preparing their tax returns, including:

• People who generally make $69,000 or less
• Persons with disabilities; and
• Limited English-speaking taxpayers

The PACE VITA Program offers free Tax Preparation for residents of the Greater New Bedford Area!

While the IRS manages the VITA and TCE programs, the VITA program is operated by PACE volunteers who want to make a difference in their communities. The IRS-certified volunteers who provide tax counseling are often retired individuals associated with non-profit organizations that receive grants from the IRS.

Tax Preparation appointments are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from Late January through mid-April.
