New Bedford’s PACE Youthbuild receives $1M federal grant

“Local non-profit People Acting In Community Endeavors (PACE) Inc. has received a million dollar federal grant that will allow it to continue to help educate at-risk high school dropouts.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Labor announced 72 YouthBuild grants totaling $75.7 million to expand second chances for at-risk youth in 31 states and the District of Columbia. The private New Bedford nonprofit is the only SouthCoast recipient and garnered $1,003,047, according to a news release.
